A beacon of support and empowerment for families on the journey of raising a child with cerebral palsy in Nigeria.

Jesuferanmi

“Didn’t really know why that has to be your name until 10 years later. Can’t believe I will still have the strength to lift a child this big. Can’t believe I will be changing diapers for a child this big. Can’t believe this child is still not responding back to my screaming and yelling. I know you have a lot to say, it’s right there in your eyes. You give me the “please don’t bother me” look. I know you really want to say “thank you for the sumptuous meals, new shoes, and a clean haircut”, but I really get it.

I can interpret your groaning and grin. Can’t still believe I am not talking about teenage driving and girlfriends you have a crush on or have a crush on you.

Yes, I am grateful that God gifted you to me. I wouldn’t have it another way. I am grateful for the growth. I am grateful for the extra muscle to carry you like a baby. I am grateful for the resilience and patience learned. I have learnt to love unconditionally. I am a woman with all shades of life. Daniel, you have helped me birth “my special needs story” and “The Helping Hand for Celebral Palsy”.”
